Hobbs,Brokunier Ruby Glass Egg Antique Bowl.

Here is a beautiful ruby red and clear glass ovular bowl, made by Hobbs,Brockunier Glass Co. Wheeling,W.Virginia. Founded 1845-1891 Defunct.
This ruby bowl has three clear glass feet with applied rigaree. In the center on the underside or bottom of the bowl, there is an applied clear glass flower prunt.

This pattern has been given the name Leighton. It can be seen on Neia and Tom Bredhofts' book, "Hobbs, Brockunier & Co., Glass Identification and Value Guide". This is a scarce piece.
There is one chip in the top area of the rigaree that extends up from one of the legs, please see photos.
The size is approx. 6.5" high, and 3 1/8" across the top. See Photos pls.
